2018 Spring Advanced Training Program

Commonwealth Lacrosse Director Chris Swanenburg will be overseeing advanced teaching sessions for boys interested in improving their skill sets and understanding of the sport of lacrosse. The eight session program will be conducted every Sunday during the months of March and April with the exception of Easter Sunday. Instruction will take place at the Warhill Sports Complex in Williamsburg and at the TowneBank Athletic Park in Newport News.

Enrollment is open to boys of moderate to high lacrosse ability presently enrolled in grades 4-12. Full equipment (including a mouth guard) is required as there will be occasional, limited body contact.

Practice times each Sunday are as follows:

  • Boys Enrolled in Grades 4-8: 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
  • Boys Enrolled in High School: 6:00 p.m until 7:30 p.m.

Each session will consist of focused drill work and small group play, with participants receiving the same hands-on training and coaching that Coach Swanenburg has used to develop numerous high school and college All-Americans and future professional lacrosse players alike. Boys will be grouped by age and ability level and receive personalized instruction.

Coach Swanenburg was an All-Ivy goalie at Yale University and has twenty years of college coaching experience. He presently oversees the Peninsula Patriots boys travel lacrosse organization. Patriot players have claimed eight of the last twelve All-America spots allocated to the Hampton Roads region.

The cost for the program is $150 and registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit an application and payment as soon as possible.

For more information, or should you have any questions, please contact Chris Swanenburg at (443) 690-7683 or at director@capitallacrosse.com.
